Today we had planned to go for an outing outdoors, but the weather looked unpredictable, so we decided to explore the new Halswell Library. We like to visit libraries around the city.
This year we have a focus on social sight words. We are always on the look out for signs that tell us what to do and where to go when we are out in the community. Because we were in a new place we didn't know where the door was, so we followed arrow on the "Main Entrance" sign.
The Halswell Library is right next to the swimming pool. It has lots of rooms for meetings and activities, plus a cafe. Here is a link if you want to find out more.
We noticed there are holiday programmes at the library.
William noticed there are lots of comfy chairs to relax on.
Matthew found the toys.
Joshua was impressed with the DVD selection.
Rawiri made a bee line for the computers.
Aimee-Lee thought the pod chairs were just perfect for curling up in.
Alex wanted to read lots and lots of books with Fiona.
Matthew made a new friend.
Alex found more books. That's a good book, Alex!
Ahhh - what a great place to learn new things and to relax and enjoy life.
We all found something that we enjoyed doing at the Halswell Library. It is well worth a visit.
